Different catches for different seasons

The season opens in the spring, when the big rockfish that wintered in the ocean come back up the Bay. It is trophy fish time.

Rock, blues, drum, sea trout, Spanish mackerel, perch, spot, croakers, redfish and flounder are all fair game.

From about mid October the bigger fish start to show up again, as larger rockfish make their way in from the ocean. We jig, cast or troll for big rockfish and bluefish until the Bay water chills and they head south.
Seasons and limits change every year. Maryland sets the rockfish rules annually. Call (410) 924-4201 and the Captain will tell you exactly what is open for your dates.
All fair game
The Bay is home to more than 350 species of fish. These are the ones Class Act goes after.

Light tackle
Captain Bobby fishes the lightest tackle possible. A rockfish on a light rod is a better fight and a better story, and it gives a beginner a real chance to feel the fish.
Depending on the season you will jig, cast or troll. He will show you how.
Before you call

Jigging, casting and trolling, depending on the season and what the fish are doing, always on the lightest tackle that will do the job. Light tackle is more fun and a better fight.
Keepers that are in season and legal go in the cooler and home with you, so bring a cooler of your own for the ride back.
No. Captain Bobby fished offshore for years, but these days every Class Act trip fishes the Chesapeake Bay out of Tilghman Island. That is where he knows every bar, channel and lump.

(410) 924-4201No answer? Captain Bobby is probably out fishing. There is no cell signal out past the Narrows, so leave a message or send the form and he will call you back from the dock.
Answers come from this site: the trips, the fishing, the dock and what to bring. Dates are always a phone call with the Captain.
